Education material/ Bill Board advertisements/ Film Production
• Production of Education material and Guidelines for schools is absolutely essential for Staff and students. School visitation programs have been ongoing for some time in the Dar es Salaam region. Heads of schools have frequently requested Guidelines to be prepared and offered to the school.
• Bill Board advertising, on a regular basis, is needed. It is well documented that if a “Product” is to be introduced, repeated advertising is necessary to change the mind of the population. Therefore we need to change the mindset of the Tanzanian population with regard to T1DM i.e. children/adolescents who are dependent on daily insulin injections.
• Film Production. T1DM children’s clinics are frequently asked by International organizations to send photos and stories of T1DM kids struggling to survive in ‘Africa’. Magazines and articles are prepared to gain recognition and finance for their organizations. Tanzania has a Film Company which can produce amazing and moving films of T1DM young people who have survived against all odds to become Doctors, Lawyers, laboratory Technicians, and many other professions. This film can be broadcasted on BBC African Voice and on local TVs.
